EXTENSION OF DEADLINE FOR NOMINATIONS FOR PUBLIC SERVICE AWARDS
Frequently asked questions about the nomination forms
The deadline for the Outstanding Public Service Awards Ceremony is now Monday 4th June
2012. Fifty public officers will be selected to receive awards for their outstanding contributions
to the Public Service at a Gala Ceremony at the Trinidad Hilton on June 23, 2012.
Nomination Forms are available at www.mpa.gov.tt These can be submitted online or
downloaded and sent to the MPA through ttconnect Service Centres in St. James, Princes Town,
Arima, Chaguanas, Tunapuna and Bon Accord, Tobago. The forms must reach the MPA by June
4th, 2012.
Nominees must be persons who are public officers or who have served in the public service
during the period 1962 to the present. Eligible individuals should have:
Maintained a track record of public service excellence;
Demonstrated leadership and innovation that has enhanced public service efficiency,
transparency and effectiveness;
Exhibited high standards of professional ethics, dedication and commitment to
customer satisfaction;
Inspired greater levels of integrity and accountability among their fellow public
officers;and
Been employed in the Public Service (non-contracted service) for at least fifteen (15)
years (continuous or not).
Frequently asked questions:
Do I have to be a Public Officer to nominate someone?
No, you do not have to be a Public Officer. However, if you nominate anyone you need to
make sure that all the required information is included on the form.
Can I nominate groups?
No, you cannot nominate groups. However, you can nominate inviduals in the group who fit
the criteria.
Can I nominate someone who has passed on?
Yes, you can, please remember to include information for next of kin on the form.
Can I nominate myself?
No you cannot. You can have someone else nominate you.
Can I nominate someone more than once?
Yes, you can, however nominations are based on merit not on quantity of nominations.
