INCREASED EFFORTS TO IMPROVE THE PUBLIC SERVICE

 

Minister Seepersad-Bachan To Sign MOU With Canadian Government. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Government of Trinidad and Tobago and the Government of Canada will be signed on Tuesday 5th June 2012 from 2:00 – 3:00 pm in the Board Room, Level 7, Ministry of Public Administration. The MOU will be signed by the Honourable Carolyn Seepersad-Bachan, Minister of Public Administration (MPA) and Mr. Luc Allary, the Regional Director (Americas) Canadian Commercial Corporation on behalf of the Government of Canada. The High Commissioner for Canada, Her Excellency Karen L. McDonald will also attend the signing.

The MOU is intended to facilitate support from the Canadian Government for the renewal and modernization of the Public Service. The Canadian Government will help the MPA to mobilise assistance from Canadian firms to improve service delivery and the functioning of the Human Resource Management systems within the Public Service.

Areas of focus of the MOU include:

 Integrated Service Delivery (ISD) Policy and Strategy Development

 Governance Organisational and Legislative Design

 Service Delivery Architecture Design
