OUTSTANDING PUBLIC OFFICERS TO BE HONOURED ON JUNE 23, 2012 Nominations Deadline June 1, 2012
Fifty public officers will receive awards for their outstanding contributions to the Public Service at a Gala Ceremony to be held on June 23, Public Service Day, at the Trinidad Hilton. The Outstanding Public Service Awards Ceremony is part of Public Service Week (June 16 – 23) which this year is dedicated to jointly celebrating the 50th or golden anniversary of independence and of the national public service. The Ministry of Public Administration (MPA), which is coordinating the Awards process, is inviting the Public to nominate persons for the Awards and to submit the nomation forms by June 1, 2012. Nominees must be persons who are public officers or who have served in the public service during the period 1962 to the present. Eligible individuals should have: 1. Maintained a track record of public service excellence; 2. Demonstrated leadership and innovation that has enhanced public service efficiency, transparency and effectiveness; 3. Exhibited high standards of professional ethics, dedication and commitment to customer satisfaction; 4. Inspired greater levels of integrity and accountability among their fellow public officers;and 5. Been employed in the Public Service (non-contracted service) for at least fifteen (15) years (continuous or not). Nomination Forms are available at www.mpa.gov.tt These can be submitted online or downloaded and sent to the MPA through ttconnect Service Centres in St. James, Princes Town, Arima, Chaguanas, Tunapuna and Bon Accord, Tobago. The forms must reach the MPA by June 1, 2012. In addition to the Gala Awards ceremony the MPA has organized a 5k run for public officers and their families on June 16 and a Public Service Open House from June 18 – 23.
